CBC Dances 2021-2022

How did you get started in dance?
When I was three, I danced all around my babysitter's house and used to watch her daughter dance at a studio. My babysitter enrolled me in a preschool ballet class and I instantly fell in love with dance!

What is your favorite thing about teaching dance?
Seeing a visual in my head come to life. I love creating something in my head and working with others who trust my choreography to place it on stage.

Who/What inspired you to dance?
Growing up, I used to watch So You Think You Can Dance every week with my mom. I told her that it was my dream to be on the show. Starting around the age of 7, I trained to be on SYTYCD. I soon realized that I wasn't dancing just because people on a TV show were inspiring me, but because my own teammates were pushing me to become better.

What’s a fun fact about you?
Outside of dance, I love adrenaline activities! I have been zip lining in numerous countries and states and have even jumped out of a plane!

Where/What have you performed?
I have been a competitive dancer since a young age and have competed all over the United States: from Washington D.C. to Las Vegas, Nevada to Orlando, Florida. I have danced in every genre of dance as well, but my favorite is contemporary and jazz.

What is your goal as a dance teacher?
My goal as a teacher is to inspire others to find love within the art of dance.

Our daughter has been with CBC for 10 years. She has loved all of her teachers and likes the ways in which they challenge her. She also likes the variety of dance styles taught by the different teachers and the focus on teaching proper technique. We have watched our timid 3-year-old transform into a graceful teenage dancer. She has learned poise and has the self-confidence to easily perform in front of a crowd. Most importantly, CBC has kept the journey fun and enjoyable for her and for us.

A few factors that lead us to choose this studio were the level of instruction, decorum, talented and loving team and, most of all, the older students were a testament based on their skill and overall composure. After being a part of the CBC family for 6 years, the reasons why we selected this studio have proven true. Not only will this studio deliver a quality dance education but your child will also be a part of an amazing community.

For 14 years, my daughter called CBC her second home and considered Kerry, her second mom. Kerry and her dance faculty provide exceptional training in ballet and other styles of dance. Not only is the dance education top notch, CBC provides a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere the moment you walk in the door.  My daughter’s love for ballet grew year after year and because of the training she received, she continues to pursue that passion in college.

I would highly recommend Cleveland Ballet Conservatory to anyone looking for both a great dance education and the environment to learn it in.
